Gemini Engineering Technologies, Inc. (Gemini) is a research and development organization that has applied for patent protection for a number of technologies that have the potential to significantly enhance the fuel efficiency of semi-tractor trailers while simultaneously reducing heavy particulates, greenhouse gas emissions, and the thermal pollution from diesel engines. 

The company’s revolutionary aerodynamic breakthroughs for large, long-haul semi trucks, hybrid co-generation technologies, and hydraulic, regenerative drive are built upon the foundation of technologies that are well proven in different applications. 

Gemini has combined and focused these well known and commonly used technologies on the long haul truck transportation market for their initial application because of the urgent need to increase operating efficiencies and reduce the pollution created by the transportation sector.

In one year, a Class 8 tractor/trailer that travels 120,000 miles and averages six miles per gallon, if equipped with Gemini technology, would reduce its consumption of diesel fuel by 10,000 gallons. 

At the May 28, 2008 average price of $4.72 per gallon, this technology would save the operator $47,230 per year.

For each tractor/trailer so equipped, the amount of air pollution produced each year would be reduced by:

• 110 tons of Carbon Dioxide (CO₂)
• 82 pounds of Particulate matter, containing over 40 carcinogenic substances, and
• 1400 pounds of Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx).
